Parag Parikh Flexi Cap Fund

Parag Parikh Mutual Fund has only 3 schemes – Muticap, Tax Saver and Debt. They have refrained from introducing new schemes for every set of opportunity, thereby not diverting their attention from their core expertise.

Fund Name: Parag Parikh Flexi Cap Fund (Previously known as Parag Parikh Long Term Equity Fund)

Philosophy:

The fund follows the principal of modern value investing. The Warren Buffet method of value investing of buying good stocks at cheap price do not consider the recent development in stock market whereby good companies are almost never cheap. Hence, the fund uses the modified version of value investing of buying good companies at reasonable price. It’s like eating in a 5-star dining at the price of an Udipi restaurant.

Objective:

The objective of the fund is to create wealth for investors in long term. The fund does not believe in short term trends and quick bucks understanding well that companies and economies goes through various cycles. A company with good fundamentals, products and brand will provide good return in long term (if bought at reasonable price) irrespective of the economic cycles.

Most fund managers have 60% turnover of their stocks i.e. they replace around 60% of the companies hold in one year span. Parag Parikh on other have a turnover ratio of around 6%.

Holding

The fund invest 65% in Indian equities and around 35% in foreign equities.

The fund house wants to invest in only those countries where capitalism is deep-rooted and there is a good track-record of minority shareholder-friendly actions. PPFAS MF doesn’t invest in Chinese companies.
